Workplace Adjustments & Supports – A Guide for Autistic and AuDHD People (Part 4)

This guide is the fourth part of a five-part Yellow Ladybugs series created with our community to support autistic and AuDHD people to navigate work in a way that actually reflects our lived experience.

Part 4 focuses on workplace adjustments and supports, and what these actually look like in real workplaces for autistic and AuDHD people.

It explores the types of adjustments that can make a meaningful difference to sensory comfort, communication, workload, environment and expectations, and why many people don’t realise they are allowed to ask for these.

The guide walks through how to think about adjustments without needing to justify yourself, how to ask for them in ways that feel safe, and how employer responses can give you useful information about the workplace culture.

It also introduces supports that many people don’t know exist, including JobAccess, the Employment Assistance Fund and Disability Employment Services, and how these can help fund or facilitate adjustments.

This guide is about helping you understand that adjustments are not special treatment. They are tools that make work more accessible and sustainable.

This is a digital PDF download and is Part 4 of the Yellow Ladybugs Work Resource Series.
